Former Wexford Manager Davy Fitzgerald Takes On New Inter-County Role

There’s a lot of talk down in Cork about Davy Fitzgerald…

The former Wexford Senior hurling manager was in talks to become a part of the new Cork Camogie set-up, although the Cork County Board are yet to confirm any such appointment.

Despite this, national publisher, the Irish Examiner, have since confirmed that the former Wexford manager will be involved as a coach in the backroom team for the Cork ladies.

The Cork Camogie team is to be headed up by Matthew Twomey, while Paudie Kissane has also joined the backroom team.

Fitzgerald departed the Wexford Senior huling team after five years at the helm, with Darragh Egan taking up the role as the new manager.

Recently, Fitzgerald was linked with the Galway Senior hurling job, only to be beaten to the position by Kilkenny legend, Henry Shefflin.

It certainly will be an interesting new role for Fitzgerald.
