Castletown’s Colm Morris Hangs Up The Boots After County Final Victory

Castletown were crowned Wexford Senior Football Champions for 2022 on Sunday…

The underdogs defeated reigning champions, Shelmaliers, on a score-line of 0-13 to 0-09.

One thing that may have went somewhat under the radar is that fans of Gaelic Football will not see Colm Morris play in the Wexford Football championship again.

Speaking to Wexford GAA TV, Morris confirmed his retirement from club football following his club’s county final win.

“That’s my last time putting on boots in the Wexford Football Championship. I’ll be retiring from club football in Wexford now. It’s been a privilege to be apart of the club and to play for Wexford for so long,” he stated.

Morris did not play in the county final on Sunday, but he enjoyed a lengthy playing career with the North Wexford club and with the Wexford Senior Footballers, having won three Wexford Senior Football titles for his club along the way.
