Over $28,000 Donated On Fundraiser For Wexford Woman Who Got Brain Tumour While Travelling

A fundraiser has been set up to support a Wexford woman…

Young Wexford woman, Siobhan Ryan, from Ramsgrange in New Ross moved to Australia last September for a new adventure.

After travelling around Australia, Siobhan settled in Sydney – but she started to suffer with headaches and dizziness and a concerned colleague directed her to an optician. Then, the optician directed Siobhan straight to hospital where she was diagnosed with a brain tumour on the 15th December.

As the GoFundMe reads,

“Siobhan is making a very slow recovery, however she is medically stable. Siobhan’s medical team are hopeful she may be well enough to travel home to Ireland later this year accompanied with a medical team, where she will need further treatment as an inpatient .Siobhan’s medical expenses in Australia are covered at the moment by her insurance which we are incredibly grateful for. Doctors have informed Siobhan’s family that she will require ongoing rehabilitation and medical care across the next few years.”

The organisers of the fundraiser hopes that it will assist Siobhan in receiving care in Ireland and ease the financial burden this will entail.

Over $28,000 AUD has currently been raised in less than 11 hours since the fundraiser became active. The fundraiser has a goal to reach $50,000.

Siobhan’s family would like to thank everyone in Australia, Ireland and across the world for there prayers generosity and kindness at this difficult time.
