Wexford v Tipperary: Ladies Division 3 Football Final Preview

Tipperary v Wexford, 2 pm, Birr, Sunday

All roads lead to Birr, Co Offaly, on Sunday when Wexford play Tipperary in the Ladies Division 3 football final replay. The sides played out a thrilling encounter in Clane two weeks ago but nothing could separate the sides at full- time. Wexford led the game throughout, but it took a last minute point from Fiona Rochford to force a replay.

Tipperary will come into the game realising they can play better, as they were completely outplayed by Wexford for large patches of the drawn game. Aisling Moloney, who was the Premier county’s best player showed quality throughout but she will need more support from her colleagues in the forward line if they intend on capturing silverware and promotion.

Wexford will be happy with their performance for the majority of the drawn game but it will worry Anthony Masterson that Tipperary gradually got back into the game before the Rochford equaliser. It was expected that a similar starting team would be named for Wexford, with Aisling Murphy the main danger in the Wexford attack after her impressive display in the drawn game, while Fiona Rochford could also have another big game.

Tipperary will feel they can improve, however for Wexford a similar start to the drawn game may be good enough for them to get over the line in what should be another cracking contest.

We wish the girls and management the best of luck and we would encourage supporters to come out in force to support them on Sunday.
