Huge Blow For Oulart As Key Forward Set To Miss Hurling Final

This Sunday at 3pm, Oulart-The Ballagh will come up against St.Martins in the Wexford Senior Hurling final.

Certainly, Oulart-The Ballagh will be out to avenge their opening round loss to a young St.Martins team, however, it has been revealed that they are likely to be missing one of their key forwards for the upcoming game.

Dessie Mythen, who limped off in the semi-final against The Rapparees has been impressive all year and has been extremely influential in Oulart’s past few games in particular. In the semi-final before limping off, he accumulated a nice 0-06 from play, as well as creating and providing many other scoring opportunities for his team-mates.

Mythen, who has been pivotal to Oulart’s success in recent years twisted his knee in the semi-final and was then unable to train the following week.

Now, in an interview with Model County GAA, former All-Ireland winner and now Wexford pundit Tom Dempsey has revealed that Mythen remains unlikely to feature on Sunday.

With Ciaran Lyng set to re-feature for the Martins forward line after his suspension, Oulart’s test has become much harder.

Without a doubt, Mythen’s loss will be a huge blow for Oulart-The Ballagh as they aim to pick up their 11th Wexford Senior hurling title in as little as fourteen years.
