Two Wexford Hurlers Have Jetted Off To Singapore For Exhibition Match

The 2016 and 2017 All-Star selections flew to Singapore on Wednesday… 

And two Wexford hurlers were amongst the seventy plus GAA players that made the journey.

Namely, midfielder Lee Chin and centre-back Matthew O’Hanlon are the two Wexford stars given the opportunity.

The travelling players & management will be involved in a number of exhibition and coaching events with local children.

The highlight of the trip will occur on Saturday though, as both the 2016 and 2017 team will face off in an exhibition match at about 5pm local time.

The game will be played at Padang field in the Downtown Core of the Central Business Area in Singapore, Malaysia. Due to the expected 30 plus degree heat, the teams will play in a 12-a-side game, while rolling substitutions will be another distinct feature of the game.

2017 All-Star selection: Colm Callanan (Galway), Pádraic Mannion (Galway), Matthew O’Hanlon (Wexford), Noel Connors (Waterford), Tadhg de Búrca (Waterford), Gearóid McInerney (Galway), David Burke (Galway), Brendan Maher (Tipperary), Lee Chin (Wexford), Pauric Mahony (Waterford), Conor Whelan (Galway), Conor Cooney (Galway), Noel McGrath (Tipperary).
