Wexford native Aidan O’Brien has been crowned the ‘Irish Independent’ Sports Star of the Year…
Successful horse trainer, O’Brien, broke the world record this year for most group one winners and established himself as one of the greatest trainers in the history of not just horse-racing, but sport, as a whole.
He beat Bobby Frankel’s record for most Grade 1 wins, broke TJ Smith’s world record for most flat Grade 1 wins with 299 and won his 60th Royal Ascot, to name just a few of his many 2017 achievements.
