Another Victory Means Wexford Avoid Kilkenny In Walsh Cup Semi-Final

If Wexford overcome Wicklow in the next round of the Walsh Cup, it is likely that they will face Pat Gilroy’s Dublin in the semi-final…

Wexford, Carlow and Wicklow have been drawn on one side with the winners facing the group winners of Antrim, Dublin and Meath.

Despite the away venue, Wexford enter the game against Wicklow as 1/50 favourites with Paddy Power.

Dublin comfortably overcame Meath in the first-round but will face a much stiffer test when the Saffrons visit Parnell Park this Sunday, however, it is likely that the Dubs will be too strong for Antrim on this occasion, meaning that if both Wexford and Dublin win, they’ll avoid Kilkenny and face each other in the semi-finals.

The venue of the game is yet to be confirmed, but the game will be played on a Wednesday evening under lights. (17/01/2018).

In the other semi-final of the pre-season tournament, the winner of Offaly and Westmeath’s group are set to play the winner of the group involving Kilkenny, Kildare and Laois.

With Kilkenny’s dominant win over Laois yesterday and as they face Kildare at home in their next test, it looks likely that the other semi-final will feature an intriguing tie between Offaly and Kilkenny.
