Once the National Hurling League semi-final fixture was confirmed, a large crowd was expected – but the demand for tickets is astonishing. By Thursday evening, Wexford Park sold 10,000 tickets – and ticket sales have shown little signs of stopping since then.

At the time of writing at 12:30, there has been confirmation that 14,000 tickets have now been sold ahead of the game.

With more people deciding to buy their tickets at the gates today, Wexford Park could be pushing for a sell-out capacity crowd of 17,000.

If you’re planning on going to today’s game and buying your ticket at the gates, we would advise you to leave early to avoid disappointment.

While Fitzgerald and the Yellowbellies are taking it one game at a time, 2018 has provided the Yellowbellies with a brilliant opportunity to end their NHL drought – and to claim silverware in the top-tier for the first time since 1973.

If you’re not heading to today’s game, a live stream of the match can be found here.
