Former Wexford Youths player Paul ‘Spot’ Murphy has criticised the Wexford set-up, calling it “shameful and shocking” on his public Twitter profile.

In one of Wexford FC’s previous game against Drogheda United on March 20th, they similarly lost out by 1-8, and their performances are something ‘Spot’ describes as embarrassing.
When asked what’s wrong? Is it the players? The management?, he replied, “with those kinds of beatings, I’d say pretty much everything…”

Wexford FC currently sit on 9th position out of 10 places of the SSE Airtricity First Division. They’ve played 11 games; winning 2, drawing 1 and losing 8.
While it’s difficult to find it excuses for Wexford FC, their most recent 0-8 thrashing did come at the hands of league front-runners UCD, who’ve played 11 games, won 8, drawn 2, and lost only one game.
