Full time: Wexford 2-03 – Laois 0-11

Leinster Minor Football Championship

Paul Carty’s Wexford minor footballers left it all too late in a blistering hot Wexford Park on Wednesday evening.

Laois were seven points up with just ten minutes left on the clock, but two late goals by Wexford’s Jack O’Leary and Jack Finucane rocked the O’Moore County and a shock comeback looked on the cards.

Unfortunately for the Model County, Laois survived the late blast and they make it two from two in their Leinster minor round-robin campaign. On the other hand, Wexford will have few excuses, and it’s two losses from two after losing out to Kildare in the opening round.
