There’s no doubt that Wexford fans will be delighted to hear the news that Liam Og McGovern’s return to inter-county hurling is imminent.
Just under three weeks ago, we reported that Liam Og was back training with the Wexford hurlers, and now, it seems he’s closer to a return than initially expected.
The St Annes star, who was a victim of two cruciate knee ligament injuries, has been named as number 25 on the match-day panel to face Offaly this Saturday.
“Hopefully, the body will tell me when it’s right and then I just need a bit of luck. I’d love to think I’ll see a bit of action this year but I know now you can’t really focus on a fixed date”, he said while doing his rehab.
Eleven months following his second cruciate operation, Liam Og could make his return to action on Saturday evening – which would be great to see after a such a tormenting few years for the pacy forward.
