The Wexford People have reported that Wexford ace attacker Rory O’Connor is a doubt for the upcoming Leinster Championship game versus Kilkenny.

“The St Martins club-man emerged from the Galway defeat with a hand injury, received early in the game, but it will not be known for a couple of days if he is in a position to play this weekend.”

“He will undergo x-rays and a scan on the injury, leaving the Wexford management hoping that the injury is not serious enough to keep him out of the game,” according to Brendan Furlong of the Wexford People.

O’Connor has been a shining light for Wexford throughout this campaign, being a revelation to our attack force and popping up with mammoth scores every game.

If Wexford are to overturn Kilkenny in their home patch, they’ll need all of their key players lining out – and the loss of 20-year-old O’Connor would be a huge blow ahead of the must-win game.

A win on Saturday would see Wexford through to the Leinster final for the second-year running, with another chance to avenge their previous losses to All-Ireland Champion Galway in Croke Park.
