Gorey’s Niall ‘Boom Boom’ Kennedy will travel to Boston to fight on the undercard of Billy Joe Saunders and Katie Taylor’s co-main event.

The card will take place in the Boston’s renowned NBA stadium, TD Garden, which holds just over 20,000 people.

Across the card, Billy Joe Saunders will fight in a WBO middleweight battle against Rhode Island’s Demetrius Andrade. Alongside Saunders, Wicklow and Irish boxing hero Katie Taylor will defend her world title against Cindy Serrano.

Gorey native Kennedy, is now 11-0-1 in professional boxing, will be hoping to bounce back after drawing his last fight to Joel Caudle in New Hampshire.

An opponent for Kennedy is yet to be confirmed, but according to IrishBoxing.com, the Wexford native is set to be in a ‘major fight’ on Saturday 20th October.

This will be a huge fight for ‘Boom Boom Bas’ and he will be eager to impress on his biggest platform to date.

The Boston card will be the second held by Matchroom as part of their billion-dollar streaming deal with DAZN, and broadcast live on Sky Sports.
