Following a stalemate in the first Senior football final, the Shelmaliers went on to comprehensively defeat Kilanerin in the follow-up replay on Saturday afternoon.

Meanwhile, in the Wexford Senior Hurling Championship, underdogs Naomh Eanna came out worthy winners against reigning champions St Martins.

Along with celebrations to bask in, both clubs will be looking forward to progressing in the Leinster and All-Ireland Club Championship, where they will have their eyes set on even bigger trophies.

The Shelmaliers, Wexford’s newest football champions, will be looking ahead to a clash against Meath Champions, St Peters Dunboyne, which will take place in Innovate Wexford Park on Sunday 28th October, at 1.30pm.

A win against Dunboyne will see the Shels in the quarter-final stages of the Leinster Club Championship, where they would have a home clash against the Dublin champions.

Naomh Eanna, the newly crowned Wexford Hurling Champions, will be looking forward to a Leinster Club hurling clash against Laois Champions, Camross, which will take place in O’Moore Park (Laois) on November 4th at 2pm.

A win for Naomh Eanna here would set up a home semi-final clash against the Kilkenny champions, which would be another spectacular occasion in Wexford Park.
