Liam Sheedy’s Tipperary side are currently facing an injury crisis…

According to the Midland Tribune, several prominent Tipperary figures are due to sit out the upcoming clash with the Yellowbellies. Players such as Cathal Barrett, John O’Dwyer, Dan McCormack and Barry Heffernan are unlikely to feature.

However, Sheedy will be delighted with the fact that
Loughmore-Castleiney native John McGrath is an option for the upcoming Wexford game.

Although he admits that he is not up to full fitness yet, his limited availability still eases their ongoing crisis. Speaking to the Midland Tribune, he said:

“They are dropping like flies on me and we have to get them into the recovery room. We are going to have a tough few weeks and our panel is going to be tested but we go to Wexford in two weeks’ time and we will recover for the week and go again…”

“He doesn’t have a whole lot done we just said we could fire him in on the edge of the square to give him a little taste of it.”

Tipperary are not the only team with an unwanted list of injuries though. The Yellowbellies are without a number of key players too, as per Fitzgerald’s recent injury update.

Wexford will host Tipperary in the National Hurling League at 2pm on Sunday 17th Feb in Innovate Wexford Park.
