Key Wexford Player Likely To Miss Opening Round Of Leinster Hurling Championship

Davy Fitzgerald will likely be without one of Wexford’s key players for the Model County’s Leinster Championship opener against Dublin…

Wexford midfielder Dee O’Keeffe will likely miss the opening round, after he picked up a leg injury in a recent Wexford Senior football game for his club team St Annes.

He picked up a dead leg and is set to be sidelined for 4-6 weeks. With Wexford’s match against Dublin falling on May 19th, the midfielder starts a race against time to be fit for the match.

As O’Keeffe is a central player to Fitzgerald’s new system, his injury will result in a headache for Fitzgerald. Not just that, but now, O’Keeffe will miss four championship games for his club, two in hurling and two in football over the next four weeks.
