Confusion Galore As Referee Awards Glynn With Win, Then Changes Mind

Thankfully, the Wexford Senior hurling championship is back…

Unfortunately however, it seems that some discrepancies within the GAA world will never leave, such as the lack of a functioning scoreboard to take pressure off referees.

There was widespread confusion in Taghmon on Saturday evening at full-time of the opening round of the Wexford Senior hurling championship between Glynn-Barntown and the Shelmaliers.

Originally, the referee blew the whistle and awarded Glynn-Barntown with the win. However, after deliberation and “some kind words” from the Shelmaliers camp, the referee changed his mind and claimed the match was a draw.
