Paul Galvin Was Spotted At Wexford’s Intermediate Club Football Championship Matches Tonight

Hopefully, with Paul Galvin’s recent appointment, this will ignite a revival for Wexford football…

After Paul McLoughlin announced he will no longer be taking up the role as Wexford Senior Football manager for another season, the county board searched for the perfect replacement for the footballers.

A lot of names were thrown into the hat, such as Ciaran Deely, Anthony Masterson and Colin Kelly. Few would have expected though that Kerry native Paul Galvin would be appointed to the role.

Galvin, a Kerry legend with an illustrious playing career, made an appearance at this evening’s double header of Wexford Intermediate club football championship matches. The second game was played between St Mary’s Maudlintown and St Fintans, while Crossabeg played St Josephs in the first. St Mary’s defeated the Fintans by three points (0-13 – 0-10), while Crossabeg easily dispatched the Wexford town side on a scoreline of 2-17 to 0-04.

This campaign will be Galvin’s first year in inter-county management, but if his managerial career is half as successful as his playing career, we’d be doing ok!
