One club who clearly have set their sights on the future is Gorey district club, Askamore-Kilrush.

In an auction that took place in the Ashdown Park Hotel in Gorey on Wednesday evening, Askamore-Kilrush were successful on first-round bidding, with a €350,000 bid for a 25.6 acre plot of land.

The farm is located at Bolinaheny, near Bunclody, and was brought to auction by Quinn Property estate agents and auctioneers.

The property listed at auction was comprised of a 216 acre residential farm with extensive outbuildings and land. Over 150 people turned up to witness the event unfold, with a member of the Quinn Property firm stating that it “was one of the finest farms to be sold in North Wexford for some years.”
