Faythe Harriers Survive Relegation, While St Martins Squeeze Past Glynn-Barntown

It just serves to further highlight how close this Wexford Senior Hurling Championship really is…

Wexford town side Faythe Harriers survived a drop to the Intermediate ranks today, as they comfortably defeated Oylegate-Glenbrien in Bellefield. Oylegate, who were promoted after their 2017 campaign, will be hoping that with an injury-free Podge Doran, they’ll soon regain their senior hurling status.

Meanwhile, in the first quarter-final of the day, Ferns St Aidans defeated reigning champions Naomh Eanna to advance into the semi-final stages of the Wexford SHC. Following their win in Wexford Park, Glynn-Barntown faced close neighbours St Martins, which finished in favour of the Martins on a scoreline of 2-19 to 1-19.

While St Martins and Ferns advance to the semi-finals, they’ll need to wait until tomorrow evening until they see who joins them in the last four. Tomorrow, Shelmaliers take on St Annes, while the Rapparees will be hoping to emerge victorious over Rathnure.
