The Wexford Senior Hurling Championship final will take place this weekend…
St Martins will face St Annes in a derby game in this weekend’s Wexford SHC final. After St Martins’ mammoth opening round win in the group stages, many are tipping the star-studded outfit to come out on top again.
However, St Annes, who are coming to form at the right time, won’t fear the Martins and will relish their underdog tag once again. Coming in under the radar, they’ve shocked top-of-the-group side Shelmaliers with a cracking win in the quarter-final, which was followed up by a comfortable semi-final dispatch of the Rapparees.
Notably, this time around, St Martins will be without sharpshooter and Young Hurler of the Year nominee, Rory O’Connor, who received a straight red in their semi-final victory over Ferns St Aidans.
