It’s safe to say that Wexford are well represented in this year’s Electric Ireland Fitzgibbon Cup…
While St Martins club-man Rory O’Connor was scoring seven points to steer DCU into the quarter-final stages, another Wexford native proved menacing down South of the country.
Waterford IT played TUD (formerly DIT) in a Fitzgibbon Cup clash this afternoon and another two Wexford natives featured in the game.
Cloughbawn club-man and inter-county player Conall Flood came on as a second-half substitute in the 34th minute for WIT.
To Flood’s and WIT’s delight, he scored 1-03, all coming from play.
Meanwhile, on the opposing team for TUD, Naomh Eanna club-man Sean Delaney came on as a late substitite.
The game ended on a scoreline of 4-23 to 0-12 in favour of a dominant WIT team. The win, just like DCU, sees them advance into the quarter-final stages of the historic competition.
