Gardaí Forced To Break Up Enniscorthy House Party Of Over 80 People

The Gardai were called to a scene in Enniscorthy on Tuesday night…

A report on Wednesday’s South East Radio and today’s Irish Mirror shows that the Gardai were forced to call out to a house party in the Enniscorthy area on Tuesday night.

When the Gardai arrived, approximately 80 people were in attendance packed into a marquee. People were not observing the still-in-place social distancing rules, and people travelled well-beyond the 5km restriction to attend the house party.

No arrests were made and the Gardai would eventually break up the house party. However, concerns have now been raised by the local public questioning how such high numbers were able to attend in the first place.

“Gardaí attended the scene of a large gathering of people at a private premises in Enniscorthy on the 19th May 2020,” a Garda spokesperson said.

“Those present were advised by Gardaí on HSE guidelines on social distancing and all present agreed to follow this advice and left the area.”
