Other than the dates, there isn’t too much changes to the BGE Leinster U-20 Hurling Championship….
The pandemic greatly impacted the GAA’s already-condensed fixture schedule. The GAA were in a predicament. Just a few weeks ago, it didn’t even look like games would go ahead for 2020.
As expected, the Wexford u-20 hurlers will be straight into the semi-final stages of this year’s competition as they were last year’s finalists.
For the semi-final, the Wexford u-20 hurlers have avoided last years winners, Kilkenny, which was the initial plan as both were the 2019 finalists.
In this year’s semi-final, which will take place on October 27th, Wexford will face the winner of the five teams that do battle in Round 1 and then in the quarter-final. The Model County will be up against either Antrim, Down, Dublin, Offaly, or Westmeath in this year’s semi-final.
The new and revised fixture schedule was confirmed this evening by Leinster GAA and the new schedule is available below.
Meanwhile, the Wexford Minor hurlers will be looking forward to a mouth-watering clash in their revised championship as they look to build on last year’s Leinster final success in the same grade.
