Another two GAA clubs in Wexford have decided to take action and suspend all club activity…
This was followed by the Askamore-Kilrush GAA club who released a statement on Thursday noting that a number of their adult club players have been exposed to Covid-19.
Now, another two Wexford GAA clubs — both in the Enniscorthy district — have opted to suspend all club activity until further notice.
Both Bunclody GAA and Duffry Rovers GAA club have suspended all GAA activity as a Covid-19 precaution.
In a statement released to the public, Bunclody GAA stated that:
“HWH Bunclody GAA and Ladies Football Club, along with Bunclody Camogie Club are postponing all club activity, effective immediately. There are currently no positive cases among members, this is purely a precautionary measure.”
“We do not take this decision lightly but as a club feel that for the safety of our members, their families and the greater community it is necessary. Please be assured that all HSE and GAA guidelines will be followed by the Club. We would also like to take this opportunity to encourage anybody experiencing symptoms or that may have been in close contact with someone that is experiencing symptoms to restrict their movements and contact their GP,” the Bunclody GAA statement read.
The health and safety of the club, players, managers, and the entire community is absolutely paramount and again, we must applaud both teams for their swift action.
