Plenty of games took place today in the Wexford Senior Football Championship…

In fact, action got underway on Friday with Glynn/Barntown taking on the newly promoted HWH Bunclody. It was a big win for Glynn Barntown as they ran out easy winners 5-14 to 0-05 at Bellefield. Bunclody will now need to beat Sarsfields next weekend to progress to the quarter-finals.
In Group C, St Martins had a narrow 1-11 to 1-09 win over the Starlights. St Martin’s will now play Fethard in the final round of games in that group.
In Group D, Castletown had another good win, this time over the recently crowned 2020 senior hurling champions, Shelmaliers, on a scoreline of 2-09 to 1-13.
The win means that the North Wexford club will now progress to the quarter-final stages. Shelmaliers will batte it out with Kilanerin for the the remaining spot.
