Rachel previously won the Leinster version of the show before
In a post issued to her Facebook music page, the Wexford singer expressed her delight, noting she is still on “cloud nine after an amazing weekend in Galway.”
“I was shocked to be announced as the winner of the Star Nation 2020 Competition. It’s been an incredible experience, just getting to sing on an actual stage again infront of actual people was unreal!”
I want to say a massive thank you to Christina Hamilton, Conor Donovan, all of the judges, Windmill Lane Recording Studios, Musicmaker, The Ruby Sessions and everyone involved for making the competition possible for putting on such an amazing show and for giving us musicians a chance to showcase our music during these crazy uncertain times.
I also want to thank all of you guys for all of your support over these past few weeks and months. From voting to messages of support and love, it really means the world to me. I owe you all a four star pizza!,” she said.
As the winner, Rachel will now walk away with €3,000 worth of music equipment.
At Wexford Weekly, we are not surprised that Rachel was crowned the winner. Not too long ago, we featured Rachel singing a duet alongside Wexford musician Sam Ali and we were blown away by it.
No doubt, Rachel has an exciting career ahead of her.
