Niall Kennedy: “I Think He Thinks I’m Turning Up For A Payday…”

Niall Kennedy will be fighting on the undercard of Matchroom’s October 4th billing..

Kennedy, the popular Wexford heavyweight, will be facing Alen ‘The Savage’ Babic , a relatively unknown but undefeated heavyweight boxer from Croatia promoted by Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom boxing.

“I think he thinks I am turning up for a payday, but I’m actually looking to Alen Babic as a way of getting to bigger pay days. He gives me the opportunity to showcase myself in England,” Kennedy explained in an extensive interview with Seconds Out.

He presents an opportunity for me to showcase my skills in England. He is what he is, a loudmouth. You can’t argue with what he’s done so far, he’s been very good. I’m looking forward to it. I’m not going over there to make up the numbers. I’m going over there to sell myself,” Kennedy continued.

While Boom Boom is quietly confident and working away, Babic is louder with his predictions, predicting a victory for himself within the first three rounds.

It’s going to be a knockout,” Babic told Irish-boxing.com.

Everyone knows it. Niall Kennedy knows it. I am a humble guy, but the Savage is a f***ing Savage he doesn’t f***ing care. I predict it will be over in three rounds.”
