Both Minor And U-20 Football And Hurling Championships Paused

The GAA have paused both the minor and u-20 hurling and football championships…

The GAA have paused both the minor and u-20 hurling & football championships from midnight tonight.

The move comes as the Republic of Ireland has introduced Level 5 restrictions due to the rising Covid-19 cases.

The Wexford minor hurlers were due to play against Kilkenny the same day as their Senior county-parts would play Galway in the Leinster semi-final, on October 31st.

The Wexford u-20 hurlers were due to play their Leinster semi-final clash against the winners of on November 4th. Both, this clash and the Wexford minor clash, have now been postponed to a later date due to the six-week Level 5 restrictions imposed on the country.

At the time of writing and as per NPHET’s advice, the Senior inter-county season and Wexford’s Leinster semi-final clash against Galway on Halloween night is still going ahead.
