Wexford Senior Football Team Named For Tomorrow’s Promotion Decider

Both sides will face each other in this year’s Leinster Football Championship next weekend…

But, the Wexford and Wicklow clash in the Allianz Division 4 National League, which takes place tomorrow in Wexford Park, is a vital one too.

A win for either side could see them gain promotion to Division 3 of the National Football League and be crowned League winners.

Wicklow will be the team travelling for the clash, and the bookies have priced the Yellowbellies as slight favourites, with an 8/11 tag.

Wicklow are 11/8 to win, while the draw is pried at 15/2.

Wexford had a great National Football League season under Paul Galvin before the season came to a halt due to Covid-19 and before Galvin’s eventual departure from the post.

A win against Limerick away, with interim manager Shane Roche on board, has left Wexford in a great position being one of the in-form teams of the Division 4 campaign.

They come up against a stellar tear in Davy Byrne’s Wicklow side, but here’s hoping for a cracking game and a Wexford victory.

The Wexford team is as follows:

1.Patrick Doyle, 2.Martin O’Connor, 3. Gavin Sheehan, 4.Eoin Porter, 5.Glen Malone, 6.Brian Malone, 7. Sean Ryan, 8. Niall Hughes, 9. Daithi Waters, 10. Alan Tobin, 11. Donal Stanley, 12. Eoghan Nolan, 13. Kevin O’Grady, 14. John Tubritt, 15. Ben Brosnan.
