A Wexford family were crowned the winners of Ireland’s Fittest Family last night..
The Mahoney family, who are apart of the Glynn-Barntown GAA club in Wexford, have been crowned this year’s winners of Ireland’s Fittest Family.
The Wexford family were led by current Wexford Senior hurling manager, Davy Fitzgerald.
A video, which emerged online following Fitzgerald’s and the Mahoney’s win, shows just how much the victory in Ireland’s Fittest Family meant to the Clare native.
In the video below, Fitzgerald can be seen jumping up and down uncontrollably with sheer delight for the Wexford family. It was a moment which gave another unique insight into the competitiveness of Fitzgerald’s character.
If that’s what he’s like celebrating the Fittest Family, we wonder what he’ll be like when he guides Wexford to All-Ireland hurling glory.
Very well done to the Mahoney family who have also claimed plaudits from the online community after this evening’s final on RTE.
Commiserations to another Wexford family, the Cullens, who were also in tonight’s final of Ireland’s Fittest Family. Both families have done incredibly well and the county is proud.
