Hundreds Of Easter Eggs Donated After Wexford Charity Appeal

Wexford group ‘Wexford People Helping People’ issued an appeal for Easter eggs recently…

An incredible 596 Easter eggs have been donated after the Wexford community group issued an appeal on social media to support an Easter egg drive.

All of the Easter eggs will go to families that the Wexford community group supports in the community, along with families in Direct Provision, Women’s Refuge and at Ozanam House.

A number of local businesses and people such as Pettitts Supervalu, Newline Stores, Aldi on Trinity Street, Jenny’s Cupcakes, Presentation Secondary School, and Dylan O’Connor donated a significant number of Easter eggs following the social media appeal.

Members across the local community also helped by donating Easter eggs. One young man who deserves a mention is Cathair Duncan. He donated his birthday money and some Easter Eggs at today’s Easter Egg Drive.

“We are always so blown away when kids go out of their way to help others. such an amazing young man,” the group said.

The local WPHP group have been doing trojan work throughout the community in recent times. It is great to see that the community spirit remains high, despite the current Covid-19 climate.

The group remains at St Josephs Community Centre Car Park in Bishops Water, Wexford today 27 March, until 4pm. If you cannot make it, you can donate to the group’s PayPal here, but make sure to reference ‘Easter Egg Drive’.
