The Blackstairs Mountain on the Wexford and Carlow border was the most recent area whereby fire crews needed to attend. It follows on from the recent and devastating fires at Killarney National Park and at the Mourne Mountains.
Fire crew personnel from Wexford and Carlow have been tackling the fire over the past week, but it had worsened overnight.
Local radio station KCLR have reported that 2,000 hectares has been destroyed.
