Public Angered Over Destruction Of Historical WWII Landmark In Wexford

There has been widespread anger in Rosslare over this..

The public have been angered by the destruction of a WWII landmark in Rosslare.

Likewise, County Councillors in Wexford are dismayed by this act of vandalism.

These WWII Look Out Posts and EIRE navigation signs are part of our country’s history.

It has been reported that this was a deliberate act of vandalism. Machinery tyre markings can be seen approaching the now-destroyed landmark.

Wexford Councillor Ger Carthy condemned the incident and stated that this landmark will be re-built into its original state:

“Following last night’s vandalism, I have spoken with senior officials from the local authority who have responsibility for conservation. I can publicly assure my local community that this historic watch-out tower will be put back to it’s original state. Myself and local authority will move on this Tuesday.”
