Wexford American Football Team Complete 24 Hour Relay In Memory Of Former Coach

Wexford’s very own American Football team, the Wexford Eagles, took part in a 24-hour relay on Wednesday…

Members of the Wexford Eagles American Football Club in Gorey took part in a 24-hour relay in memory of their former coach, Billy Anderson.

Billy Anderson died tragically in a road accident en route to an American football game in Craigavon, Co Armagh, in 2019.

Members of the Wexford Eagles ran around Gorey, and wherever they were based, in their full Wexford Eagles American football kits. The club members completed the 24-hour relay on Wednesday, June 3rd, which was Billy’s birthday.

Over €2300 has been raised on a GoFundMe in memory of Billy Anderson. The money raised will be going towards a trust fund for Billy’s son, Finlay.

Billy has left a legacy behind, and his memory continues to live on across the community.
