Wexford Native Called Into Irish Rugby Squad For International Test Series

Andy Farrell and the coaching team have named a 37 man squad for the Vodafone Summer Series which features two Tests in July…

In the two tests which will take place at the Aviva Stadium, Ireland will face Japan and then the USA.

The match against Japan on Saturday 3rd July will kick off at 1.00pm and the fixture against the USA on Saturday 10th July will kick off at 7.15pm.

A limited number of supporters will alos be back in the Aviva Stadium for the games.

Eleven uncapped players have been named in the side, and one of those players is Wexford native and Ulster Rugby player, Paul Boyle.

The eleven uncapped players are: Robert Baloucoune, Tom O’Toole, Nick Timoney (Ulster), Caolin Blade, Tom Daly, Paul Boyle (Connacht), Harry Byrne, Peter Dooley, Ross Molony (Leinster), Gavin Coombes, Fineen Wycherley (Munster).

“We now have two games at home to focus on which will be a good challenge for the group.  Japan played the Sunwolves at the weekend and will play the Lions the week before we play at the Aviva Stadium and we know the quality of their squad from the World Cup,” said Andy Farrell, Ireland head coach.

It’s great news for Wexford man, Paul Boyle, who will only be delighted with his first call-up.
