Wexford Set Up Home Tie With All Ireland Champions

A mighty performance by the Wexford Senior Footballers today has set up a tie with the All-Ireland champions..

Wexford defeated Wicklow today in Aughrim. Shane Roche’s team secured a 2-11 to 0-14 victory over our neighbours helped by a first-half goal from Mark Rossiter, and a second-half goal from the excellent Martin O’Connor.

Today’s result has set up a Leinster Championship clash with six-in-a-row All-Ireland football champions, Dublin.

Wexford will welcome the Dubs to Chadwicks Wexford Park which will take place next Sunday, July 4th, at 3:30 pm.

Meanwhile, in other Wexford GAA news, Davy Fitzgerald’s hurlers will face Kilkenny next weekend, which is also sure to be an entertaining encounter between the two neighbours.

The Wexford Senior hurlers take on Kilkenny next Saturday, July 3rd, at 4:30 pm. That game will take place in O’Moore Park, Laois.
