Wexford’s Opponents Revealed For Minor Hurling Championship Opener Next Week

The Wexford minor hurlers are out in action next week..

Although many eyes were on the Euro 2020 clash this evening between England and Denmark, both Kildare and Laois had a battle of their own in the Leinster Minor Hurling Championship in Newbridge.

Wexford were due to face the winners of that game. The Lilywhites, who were winning on a score line of 2-08 to 0-06 at half-time, finished the game with a victory in the opening round of the Leinster Minor Hurling Championship on a score line of 2-16 – 0-15.

This means that Wexford will now face Kildare in the quarter-final of the 2021 Leinster Minor Hurling Championship.

The game will take place next Wednesday, July 14th, at 7:30pm and Wexford will be on the road to St Conleths Park in Newbridge, as Kildrare have home advantage for the clash as per the Leinster Council’s GAA fixtures.

On Tuesday evening, the Wexford u-20 hurlers lost out to Kildare in Newbridge which makes this Leinster hurling championship test all the more important for the Wexford minor hurlers.

With wins over Wexford and Laois respectively, it has marked a great week for Kildare hurling, but they will not want to stop their progress just yet.

A win for Wexford would see them placed into a Leinster Minor hurling semi-final against either Antrim, Meath, or Dublin.

A live stream of the Wexford-Kildare Minor hurling game will be available via Kildare GAA’s official channels. For ease of access, we will place the YouTube link on our website on match-day.
