Sad News Breaks Across Wexford As Stuart Is Found

Very sad news broke across Wexford today..

Stuart Van Der Bliake (59) was missing from the Rosslare Harbour area of County Wexford since Tuesday, 15th June, 2021.

Sad news broke across Wexford as the searches for Stuart ended after the discovery of a body was made in the Tagoat area just outside of Rosslare on Monday, July 12th.

Stuart was a key member of the local Parkruns and he was an active member. The Parkrun community expressed their sadness this evening:

“It is with great sadness that we hear the sad news that Stuart Van Der Bliake has been found. Unfortunately, it is not the outcome that everyone had been hoping for. Stuart was a frequent participant and volunteer at Gorey parkrun, and visited parkruns around the world as a parkrun tourist. Stuart was a parkrun Ambassador, overseeing a number of events, ensuring their ongoing success. Together with his wife Nemone, Stuart ran the Heritage Junior parkrun in Wexford, bringing on the next generation of parkrunners. Himself and Nemone visited us in Castletown and he did timekeeper that day joining us in the coffee shop afterwards for the chats. We would like to offer our condolences to his wife Nemone and their children. Rest in peace Stuart,” they said.

The Gardai confirmed the news and then thanked the public and the media for their assistance:

“Missing person Stuart Van Der Bliake has been located deceased. Gardai wish to thank the public for their assistance in this matter. No further action is required.”

We also would like to extend our sympathies to Stuart’s family and friends.
