Substantial Amount Of Drugs Seized In Enniscorthy Following Investigation

Over €100,000 worth of drugs were seized in Wexford today…

Wexford Gardai were successful following an investigation as part of ‘Operation Tara’. A search took place in the Enniscorthy area of Wexford on Thursday morning.

“As part of ongoing investigations targeting persons suspected to be involved in organised crime in the Enniscorthy area, earlier this morning, a joint intelligence led Operation was conducted by the Revenue Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the Wexford Divisional Drug Unit and the Detective Unit at Enniscorthy Garda Station,” a statement reads.

“The Operation resulted in the search of a premises in the Enniscorthy area. During the course of this Operation Chloromethcathinone and Herbal Cannabis with an estimated value of €118,450 was seized by Revenue Officers,” they said.

A spokesperson for the Gardaí stated that they have arrested a 46 year old male and a 47 year old female in relation to Drug Trafficking offences. Both are currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act, 1996.
