Two Wexford natives can now call themselves League champions…

Two Wexford natives got their hands on winning League medals in Westmeath today.

DCU were victorious in the Ryan Cup, which is the Senior Football Division 1 League competition for universities.

One Castletown club man and one Kilanerin-Ballyfad club man started for their college team, DCU, today. Castletown’s Liam Coleman started in midfield, while Kilanerin’s Paraic Hughes started in the wing-forward position for DCU.

DCU defeated NUIG on a score-line of 0-16 to 1-07.

Both players are currently involved in Shane Roche’s Wexford Senior Football panel.

DCU will now be hoping to go one step further when their Sigerson Cup, All-Ireland Championship Colleges campaign, commences next week.
