Wexford School Good Counsel Captures Leinster ‘A’ Hurling Championship Silverware

The Good Counsel team of 2022 will go down in history…

Yesterday, Good Counsel were crowned Leinster ‘A’ Hurling Champions.

They comprehensively defeated Dublin South Schools on a scoreline of 1-22 to 0-14, helped by Danny Glennon’s goal and Cillian Byrne’s sharpshooting in the attack.

With the Wexford school located on the border, the team was made up of mostly Wexford and Kilkenny natives. However, it was Wexford native Byrne (St Mogues Fethard) who stole the show, slotting over six points from play for Good Counsel College in Nowlan Park.

The New Ross school last captured Leinster successes in 2009, 1997 and in 1995.

2022 will now be added to that roll of honour, helped by the management team of Kevin Kehoe, Declan Wall, and Michael Purcell.
