Two Transition Year students from Wexford recently presented a cheque of over 5k to a local charity.
Both Holly Rothwell and Sara Williamson, who are TY students in FCJ Bunclody, recently presented a cheque for €5541.39 to the Wexford Hospice Homecare committee.
The money was raised through a mini-company the girls set up as part of their TY programme.
The mini-company the students organised was a 2022 Wexford Wildlife Calendar.
All profits from sales of the calendars went to Wexford Hospice Homecare.
Speaking on the gesture, a spokesperson for the school said “Well done, girls, what a selfless and compassionate thing to do!”
Both the students and the school should be proud.
