Met Éireann Upgrade Wexford’s Weather Warning To Orange

There was a yellow weather warning in place across some of the southern coastal counties throughout the day…

That Status Yellow weather warning, which was in place for some counties including Wexford, has now been upgraded to a Status Orange Weather warning.

This follows heavy rainfall across the county.

The new Status Orange rain warning has also been issued for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wicklow and Waterford.

Speaking on the upgraded weather warning, Irish weather forecaster, Met Éireann, have stated that “heavy falls of rain will continue with surface flooding and poor driving conditions.”

Wexford’s County Council encouraged all to be cautious:

“There is excessive surface water on all roads. Please be extremely careful and watch out for hazards. Only travel if you have to. All road users should take extreme care,” a spokesperson said.

The Orange Warning is valid from 3:35pm on Wednesday 9th March and is currently in place until 9:00pm on Wednesday 9th March.
