Vote Here: Wexford Player In Contention For Player Of The Week

Wexford’s Rory O’Connor is in contention to be crowned this week’s GAA.ie Player of the Week…

The Wexford man is in the form of his life, hitting 1-12 against Cork on Sunday in the final round of the Allianz Hurling League. Wexford will now face Waterford in the semi-final of the competition, while Kilkenny will play Cork in the other semi-final.

Following his powerful display in attack, O’Connor has been placed in contention to be crowned the player of the week, fighting for it against Kilkenny’s Padraig Walsh and Dublin’s Fergal Whitely

The voting process is simple: like their image once it becomes available on the GAA’s official Instagram page.

Padraig Walsh (Kilkenny)

Walsh’s relocation from defence to attack has been a huge success so far this year for Kilkenny. He excelled again on Sunday against Waterford, scoring five points from play and winning a huge amount of ball.

Rory O’Connor (Wexford)

Wexford sharp-shooter Rory O’Connor has been on fire so far this year. He was their man again in Sunday’s win over Cork, scoring 1-12, of which 1-6 came from play.

Fergal Whitely (Dublin)

Kilmacud Crokes man Fergal Whitely had had a prolific League campaign and saved his best yet for Sunday’s win over Laois. He scored seven points from play and ran himself into the ground.

Please note: Players of the Week are decided based on votes cast by followers of the Official GAA Instagram page. Voting will close at 10am on Tuesday, March 22, and the winner will be announced on GAA.ie.
