Fundraiser Set Up To Get Two Young Wexford Sports Boys To Abu Dhabi To Compete

A fundraiser has been set up to help two young Wexford sports boys…

Twin boys, Adam and Dylan Duffy, have been selected by the IMMAA (Irish Mixed Martial Arts Association) youth squad to represent Ireland in the world championships.

The boys, who train five nights per week and often two times per day, were selected on Sunday, May 22nd, and they have been picked to represent Ireland on the world stage.

The boys train out of Richie Ivory’s MMA gym in Gorey.

As MMA is not recognised as a sport by the Irish Government, the boys will not receive any funding and the funding for the trip has to be raised to cover the cost.

An array of events including coffee mornings by local businesses are in the store, but one direct way to donate to the fundraiser is to donate via GoFundMe.

Over €1,000 has already been raised to help the two young boys live their dream. The organisers of the fundraiser are hoping to raise €5000 which would cover the cost of sending the two boys and their coach over to Abu Dhabi for the competition.
