Lotto Winning Wexford Family Looking Forward To Clearing Mortgages And Upgrading Cars

Celebrations were in full swing in the National Lottery’s winner’s room on Wednesday (20th July) as a large family from Co. Wexford collected their Lotto jackpot prize worth €5,612,385 which they won on Wednesday 29th of June…

The ecstatic family, who wish to keep their win private, spoke of their disbelief at winning such a life-changing prize:

Speaking to Wexford Weekly, one family member stated that:

“We’ve been running the same numbers for 18 years, and couldn’t believe it when they actually came up. Our numbers are made up of birthdays and special dates that mean something to all of us. We must have checked the ticket a hundred times between us”.

The large family of sixteen have become Ireland’s 6th Lotto jackpot winner of the year. The winning Normal Play Pick ticket was sold in the Day Today store in Slaney Place, Enniscorthy.

Asked what they’re intending on doing with their winnings, a member of the lotto-winning family stated that:

“We’re looking forward to clearing our mortgages, changing a few cars and going on holiday. We’re a really close family and can’t wait to celebrate together in style”, they added.

Meanwhile, a second family syndicate claimed a huge National Lottery prize today. A family from Co.Laois collected their top prize of €500,000 EuroMillions Plus draw which they won on Tuesday 12th of July.

The family, who also wish to remain private, spoke of the difference the win will make to their lives. “It cost me €100 to fill up the car yesterday”, one syndicate member said, “this is going to take huge pressure off us and offer us some peace of mind”.

Their winning quick pick ticket was sold on the day of the draw at the Gala store on Grattan Street in Portlaoise, Co. Laois.

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage, and the Irish Language. In total more than €6 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 34 years ago. In 2021 alone, €289 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
