“We know what we’re capable of doing – and it’s just about doing it now” – Wexford Captain Roisin Murphy

Wexford will be taking on Laois in the All-Ireland final this Sunday…

Ahead of the All-Ireland final this weekend, Wexford LGFA’s Liam Spratt caught up with Wexford captain, Roisin Murphy, to get her thoughts on the upcoming game.

Wexford lost out to Westmeath in last year’s All-Ireland final. Murphy, who has been involved with the Wexford panel since 2009, understands that it’s going to be an “absolute battle on the day” and that they’ve “learned lessons” from last year’s loss.

Speaking to Liam Spratt, Murphy stated that:

“They have some fantastic players, really strong runners and really smart footballers. But we’re going out the same way we do in every game, focussed on what we’re going to do and focussed on how we are going to play.”

“I absolutely can’t wait…When you have a few years under your belt, these experiences and journeys become that more enjoyable. You don’t worry so much about what everyone thinks; you know what you’re cable of doing – and it’s just about going out and doing it now,” she said.
