There have been a lot of rumours about the possibility of Jack Guiney returning…
Rathnure will take on Cloughbawn in a relegation battle this evening in Wexford Park.
Guiney, who has been plying his trade with Tipperary Hurling Club in San Francisco in America, has returned for this evening’s game.
He was playing in the centre-forward position for the American GAA club.
Not only has he returned, but the former Wexford star has been named on the starting fifteen for this evening’s clash, as per the official programme released by Wexford GAA.
Just like with his time with Tipperary Hurling Club, Guiney has found himself in the centre-forward position.
Rathnure locals will be hoping that Guiney can add some extra fire-power up front, while there is no doubt that his presence will give the Cloughbawn defenders another thing to think about.
For Guiney, he will be hoping that the 5,000-mile one-way trip was worth it and that he can have an impact on the game, and in turn, help Rathnure to avoid relegation to the Intermediate ranks of the Wexford Hurling Championship.
The relegation final takes place at 7pm this evening (Friday) and a live stream of the game can be purchased online for 10 euro from Wexford GAA.
